Goop!

We love to make Goop! Its super simple, super cheap and super easy to clean up!

How can you go wrong?

 

I often forget about this easy craft. 

I love making Goop because it is fun, easy to clean, non toxic, fun, cheap and did I mention fun?!? I love how when it sits it is solid, but if you try to pick it up it turns liquid. This is fun even if you dont have children!

 I'm serious - go try it!

Sister Bear lately hasn't wanted to get her hands too dirty, so I gave her a spoon to start out with... honestly the spoon didn't last long!

I didn't measure anything! Sister Bear picked green, so we added green food coloring to our water. We put some corn starch in a bowl and just added a little colored water at a time.

The more water, the more runny your Goop is. The more corn starch, the thicker your Goop is.

We kept adding more corn starch and more water to make our fun last even longer!

Just experiment with it! Seriously, you cant go wrong with this stuff! 

This stuff was EVERYWHERE! It's ok though, because a wet wash cloth wipes it right up!

I stopped taking pictures for a good 20 minutes to play! We played with this for almost an hour while Baby Bear was sleeping.

Sidewalk Chalk Paint

This stuff is so awesome! We had a blast making it and painting with it. The best part?? Its super duper easy to clean up! Just wash it away with water! It comes off your cloths and skin with no problem. (just watch the amount of food coloring)

Now I know it is the middle of " winter", but I found the pictures today and I wanted to share this with you. We live in the Northwest, so we just get a lot (!) of rain for the most part. I'm sorry in advance for the not so great pictures, the camera I had at the time was tweaking out and gave all my pictures a blue hue.

What you need:

• 1 part cornstarch (I did 1/4 cup each, but ended up making more)
• 1 part water
• food coloring
• small containers or a muffin tin
• Paint brushes (Dollar Tree)

 I just mixed the cornstarch and water in a bowl, then poured a little into each well in a muffin tin. I then let Sister Bear pick out the colors and she helped me add them. Once we mixed them up, the paints were ready to go. I originally got the idea from Amy over at The Idea Room, and then found Jenny at Creatively Blooming with some great pictures. Go and check them out! ( Their pictures are sooo much better!)

FUN!

This was a really fun project to do and I will be making them again as soon as it gets above 60o. :-)I really really
like the consistency of the paints once they started to settle a bit. It was fun stirring them back up.

When we painted with some of the colors, the driveway just looked wet. But as it dried it looked just like chalk! We accidentally left these outside for a few days and they dried up. :-( BUT! If you just a add a bit more water and stir, presto changeo they are as good as new! I think we did this a dozen times until the paint was all gone!

We had a blast with these and it lasted us for a while. I love projects like these!

Dollar tree pantry organization

I love the dollar tree and try to utilize it as much as possible. I got some great matching baskets from the dollar tree that worked out really well for this quick project.

Unfortunately I forgot to take before pictures of my pantry, but let me tell you it was pretty disorganized. I was always getting frustrated having to pull everything out just to find one thing that invariably ended up in the back of my pantry. So to fix my problem, off to the dollar tree I went. ( Generally my solution to disorganization lol)

Luckily I was able to find a ton of the same size basket that I really liked. I now have enough to do my pantry and my snack cupboard. I'll post more on my snack cupboard another time.

The top shelves on the bottom half of my pantry

In the first picture I just showed the top two shelves of the bottom half of my pantry. Below those two shelves I just have two boxes that hold all of my recycling, that honestly just gets thrown in there. Once a week I go through and organize all my recycling and Papa Bear takes it to work with him.

 So here are the pictures of my new organized pantry, or at least one section. I have pulled out each basket so you can see what I have in them.

I got this toy organizer for a steal, but it was lacking a little bit. I decided to dress it up a little bit, so I headed to the dollar tree to see if I can find some cute wall stickers. I did!!
I love the Dollar Tree!!
